Please submit a reservation for the events you want to attend. Seating is limited to the first 100 attendees. You may reserve seating for up to two people including yourself. We will confirm your reservation by email. If later, you find you cannot make the event, please let us know so those on the 'wait list' may be able to attend.  The email confirming your attendance will include the address of Robin's Nest. Parking is limited. Please consider biking to the event. 

 

Please remember to bring lawn chairs and a bottle of wine or other drink to share with the group. T's Tacos only accepts cash.

According to Bazooka CD Release Party - May 11

Robin’s Nest kicks off the 2019 season with a CD release party for According to Bazooka. A2B’s vibrant folk-pop infused sound blurs the lines of rock, folk, blues, country and zydeco. Their lively show features well-crafted tunes and irresistible pop melodies. A2B includes Richard Urbino (vocals, guitar), René Martucci, (vocals, accordion), Jamie Knapp (vocals, upright bass) and Don Johnston (drums, percussion).  Come support local music!

The Quitters - June 1

Stevie Coyle and Glenn Houston make up the dynamic duo, The Quitters – Stevie with his right-side up finger picking and Glenn with his upside down flat picking. Glenn has been voted Best Guitarist by the Northern California Bluegrass Society and has shared billing with Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard, Earl Scruggs, Doc and Merle Watson, Willie Nelson and countless other famous artists. In addition to his stellar musical career, Stevie also claims fame as an actor and comedian, including appearances on Cheers and The Comedy Store. Promises to be a fun night!

Sophie Seng

Opening for the Quitters will be Sophie Seng. Born in Davis, Sophie began studying classical piano at age six, picked up the saxophone in sixth grade, and continued to pursue a jazz degree at CSU Northridge. Along the way she experimented with independent groups, electronic music, rock, funk, and traditional jazz. Currently, she is living in Los Angeles where she sings, writes, and arranges her own music.

Mike Blanchard & the Californios - June 15

Mike Blanchard and the Californios are a Country and Western band. Founded by Mike Blanchard of the Tattooed Love Dogs, an American band that has been playing the west coast for over 30 years. The Californios play a mixture of finely crafted originals, along with gospel and honky tonk classics. If you have seen them at Berryessa Brewing, you know you are in for a treat!

Yolo Mambo - June 29

Yolo Mambo blends spicy cha-cha, jazz, bossa nova, samba, salsa, and folk and features the beautiful song-writing and vocals of Catherine LeBlanc, Carla Campbell on percussion, Phil Summers on Spanish guitar and Steve O’Neill on string bass. Yolo Mambo is the 2018 winner of the SAMMIE award in World Music. Let’s welcome them back to Robin’s Nest!

The Musers - July 13

The Musers provide original folk music from Sonoma County. Anita Bear Sandwina plays banjolin, fiddle, mandolin and guitar, Megan McLaughlin plays guitar and mandolin, and Tom Kuhn plays upright bass. With soaring harmonies and award-winning songwriting, the Musers are winning fans where ever they play, with their foot - stomping, positive, high - energy shows. This promises to be another special night!

Rattlebox - July 27

Rattlebox is a “Progressive Americana” band featuring guitarist/singer-songwriter Lorin Rowan, cellist and vocalist Doug Harman and pedal steel guitarist Barry Sless. The combination of these musicians and their unique cutting-edge instrumentation highlight their ‘outside-the-box’ improvisations as they interweave together creating a fresh, exciting sound with powerful melodies and intriguing lyrics, as well as dazzling instrumental interludes.

Michelle Lambert - August 3

Michelle Lambert and guitarist, Robbie Thome, will be at Robin’s Nest to provide a show that can shake the trees with energy and captivate audiences with Michelle’s songs of love, trials and her "won't take no as an answer" attitude. This Berklee Grad performed over 200 shows in 2018, made several radio appearances and was featured on two regional TV Programs with her current single, "My California".  Prior to this, Michelle was touring out of Nashville, Miami, Denver, Atlanta and Los Angeles. This powerful female artist is on her way to the top and ready to take on the world!

MaMuse - August 24

With lead singers and musicians, Sarah Nutting and Karisha Longaker, MaMuse features uplifting songs in the tradition of folk and gospel music. Playing a variety of acoustic instruments including upright bass, guitar, mandolins, ukulele and flutes while backed by guitar virtuoso, Walter Strauss, and inspired drummer Mike Wofchuck, these two women embody a love for all life that is moving to witness. Sonoma County MaMuse has a lot of fans in Davis so we expect to have a full crowd!

Misner & Smith - September 7

Misner & Smith are a gem of a musical pairing and one of Davis’ favorite singer-songwriter groups, offering a refreshing take on contemporary folk music. Their lovely harmonies and perfectly blended voices fit within classic American traditions. Their songwriting and storytelling transport the listener to a unique world of their creation. With a timeless San Francisco sound and poetic songwriting, they are a duo that blend roots and folk at the cutting edge of contemporary acoustic music.

Dave Nachmanoff - September 21

Singer songwriter Dave Nachmanoff is a local legend. He has toured the world both on his own and as the guitarist and opening act for Al Stewart (“Year of the Cat”, Time Passages”) at venues ranging from the Royal Albert Hall in London, England to The Birchmere in Alexandria, VA.  The Great American Song Contest selected him as a finalist in 2017, and he was a finalist in the 2011 USA Songwriting Competition.  So glad Dave is returning to Robin’s Nest for another concert.

Patrick Landeza

Sharing the evening with Dave Nachmanoff will be well-known Hawaiian slack key guitar player, Patrick Landeza. By age 19, Patrick started opening Bay Area concerts for famous Hawaiian artists like Israel Kamakawiwo'oleCecilio & KaponoKeali'i Reichel and HAPA. In 2012, Landeza's sixth CD, "Slack Key Huaka'i," won the prestigious Nā Hōkū Hanohano award for "Slack Key Guitar Album of the Year." The awards, founded in 1978, are Hawaiian music's equivalent of the Grammy Awards. Landeza is the first mainland-based artist to receive the award.
